The city was built on the Thu Bon river between the 15th and 19th centuries and used to be a successful trading port, which adds to its history as a dynamic and vibrant city. The culture and identity of Hoi An was heavily influenced by Chinese and Japanese merchants traveling along the trade routes. As a result of this unique history, local museums explore the city's unique cultural upbringing and the city features sites like the Japanese Bridge and the opulent Tran Family Home.
For a change of pace, enjoy some time at the Hoi An Beach , where upscale beachfront resorts are growing in number and popularity. On nights with a full moon, motorbikes are banned from the city center, electric lights are turned off, and the historic quarter is bathed in the glow of silk lanterns. Vietnam Hotels. This was my favorite place. The room was very specious and clean. The stuff very professional. We really enjoyed our stay there. Please enter a valid email address.

It was very crowded and there are scooters everywhere. Even families with children all on the same scooter - crazy! They are crisis. I walked around and eat local foods I mean the ones which are not popular on any websites, just small food stalls and they are much much much much better than what you can find in the Ancient town.
Hoi An is a very historical and magical place to be and discover during the day time and at night time too. You can walk, rent a bicycle or a scooter. I highly recommed renting a scooter to go to places by yourself. Visit the old town from both sides of the river, have some street food, desserts or snacks, and most importantly, negotiate the prices. There's a lot of night life and eestern type bars and restaurants for those who don't want to go the expensive route.
If you want to try and experience similar to a local, visit the produce market in the old twon and eat there. You can also find little Vietnamese restaurants out of the beaten path and have some soups. You are the one who decide how to taylor you experience in this town. The old town is beautiful, go early to avoid the crowds. Lots of old buildings, so lovely. Avoid the pushy locals as you get off the boats, they hang their baskets on your shoulder for you to take photos, then chase you for money, very aggressive. Great places to eat and lovely old coffee places too. Avoid the beaches at An Bang and Cura Dai they are depressing, full of rubbish.
Overall a great place, few days is plenty x. Hoi An is like a crowded shopping mall full of tourists! Buy buy buy! Suggest you try the first day to get custom clothing made. It takes days from start to finish. I think the bus loads of tourists from around the world are annoying. Seek out restaurants with good reviews and you will not be disappointed! The weather was fabulous for January, cool and partly sunny! Get out of town on a bike to see the rice paddies. It is picturesque and everyone wants to be in the picture! Make sure to be there st night to see the beautiful glowing lanterns.
Get for getting tailored anything - clothes, bags, etc. We had a great time and loved being among the lanterns lighting up the streets ar night. The food is amazing - we visited the Bahn Mi Queen 3 times! Great location - walking distance from the bus stop and the old town.
The staff were extremely friendly and helpful - they provided us with a map and marked up all the key locations as well as recommended places to eat. There is also another kiman hotel 10 minutes walk from here and you can use their pool free of charge. You can also hire a bicycle and cycle to the beach which only takes around 15 minutes.
They also helped us book our travel to Hue which included stops at marble mountain, Hai Van Pass, lap an lagoon and a Japanese bridge. Stayed here for 6 nights with a mate and one of the best hotels I have stayed in. The rooms have everything you need and really comfy bed.
The staff are so friendly and helpful En-ri and go out of their way to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. The location is between old town and the beach and have free bikes which make it simple to get around. Really good breakfast and cocktails to drink by the pool. The restaurant food was really good.
Will stay here next time in hoi an and highly recommend to anyone from family, solo or groups. Great location - 15 minutes walk to old town and 20 minute cycle ride to the beach. Bikes free to borrow every day. For a family of 5 it was really good value for money. Rooms were spacious and air conditioning was good. Lots of hot water for showers in ensuite rooms.
The pool was clean and an added bonus. The hotel receptionist is lovely - very welcoming and always on hand to answer questions. We stayed here for 11 nights and it was a great base from which to explore the area. Ms Binh is so nice, you really feel she loves to meet people. We Have nice and interesting discussions. Really good exchange. You are really welcoming. And if you need something, Binh can help you, find you motorbike, give you informations and advice. The house is in a quiet street, half way to the beach and the old town.
The room is nice, clean, all confort. We stay in different place in Hoi An and Apricot Homestay is definitely the best and cheapest! I hope all the best to Binh and her family! The breakfast was so worth the value. We had vietnamese noodles and a banana pancake. Because we took a sleeper bus, we arrived super early in the morning. Huyen who was very friendly and patient helped us check in. They offer free bikes and private car service k to our Danang hotel which made our life so much easier. The room was clean and modern.
Great shower. Overall a very pleasant stay with all the friendly family members. Highly recommend to everyone. A slice of luxury and great value. Great hotel for a family stay, clean, great location for a walk or short taxi to the old town or beach, the best buffet breakfast with a mix of western and local food, large pool for the kids and lots of good local shops and restaurants close by.
We often walked min halfway to town for dinner where there are plenty of options and much cheaper than the old town.

Above all the staff are amazingly friendly and accommodating. We've stayed in a three star hotel before and this homestay beats it by a very large margin! The rooms are super clean, the family is very nice and helps with all kinds of stuff. The breakfast is tasty. It is located a bit out of town, but that is no problem at all because you get free bikes and can leave them at a place in the old town.
It's a seven minute ride or so to the town center. We loved the location. It was a quick walk to old town but off the road a bit so it felt quieter and safe for the kids. The garden setting was lovely.
We really enjoyed hotel style accommodation and facilities but with the fun of also meeting the family. Our hosts were so helpful and friendly and even helped organise collection of some items we left at the beach. Location was brilliant. Lovely street with plenty of coffee shops n eateries.
Best of both worlds for the gorgeous Hoi An. Staff are just so lovely, friendly and helpful. Pool was gorgeous and the breakfast was one of the best we have had in hotels during our trip to Vietnam. Basically a good hotel for the price of a homestay.
